I don't mean to brag or anything but I live in one of the most beautiful places you can find. Charlottesville, Viginia is nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains and provides eye candy year round. I'm originally from South Carolina and have lived in several areas around the country (including Alaska). I settled here in Virginia about ten years ago and now live with my main squeeze and furry friends and settle for occasional travel with work.
My other passion (besides crafting) is archaeology which is my day job. I work on an archaeological project with a focus on expanding knowledge and understanding enslaved life during the Colonial and Antebellum periods in the Atlantic and Caribbean. Most of my time is spent behind a computer and in the lab but when I'm lucky I get to play outside!
I've had a love affair with art and crafting ever since taking my first art class with Mrs. Heen in elementary school. I dabble in painting, printing and stained glass but all that has gone by the wayside as of late since I picked up quilting again. I made my first quilt about 12 years ago and took it up passionately again about a year ago. I don't like to follow a pattern so as a result each of my quilts is one-of-a-kind. I like simple designs and spicing those up with texture and color. I enjoy the entire process of making a quilt, from picking out fabrics, to design, to quilting.
